Mosaic Media

Data Usage Policy

A product-level explanation of how Mosaic Media uses onboarding, library, recommendation, and support data to run personalization and core app features.

Effective July 22, 2026

This Data Usage Policy explains how Mosaic Media uses the data you provide inside the product to power personalization, recommendations, imports, billing, support, and product operations.

1. What Product Data We Use

  • Profile data such as display name, timezone, and optional demographic fields.
  • Onboarding preferences like content interests, goals, and services you use.
  • Library activity such as titles added, ratings, statuses, notes, memories, and import history.
  • Billing state such as free, Pro, or Master plan status and entitlement checks.
  • Support interactions and bug reports that help us respond and improve the service.

2. How We Use It in the Product

  • To personalize onboarding and shape first-run recommendations.
  • To tailor recommendation and taste-match prompts to the services and categories you selected.
  • To organize your library, history, eras, insights, and progress views.
  • To determine whether certain features should be available based on your subscription tier.
  • To recover from errors, investigate support issues, and improve product reliability.

3. Location, Timezone, Birthday, and Gender

These fields are optional in onboarding. When you choose to provide them, we use them to make time-sensitive summaries cleaner, support regional or timezone-aware context, and improve future insight features. We do not treat these optional fields as advertising profile inputs.

Location autocomplete is powered by Geoapify only while you actively type in that field. Mosaic Media does not collect precise background GPS location from your device.

4. AI and Recommendation Workflows

When you use recommendation, taste-match, or similar AI features, Mosaic Media sends the minimum context needed to generate a result. That can include your prompt, recent library context, existing titles to avoid duplicating, and onboarding preferences relevant to the request.

If you use photo-based actor identification, the submitted image is sent to OpenAI for that request. If you use recommendation or taste-match flows, prompt context is sent to Anthropic.

5. Metadata and Lookup Providers

Mosaic Media uses third-party providers such as TMDB for title search, enrichment, and poster art. Location suggestion requests use Geoapify. These providers receive the specific lookup input needed to fulfill the request you initiated.

6. What We Do Not Do

  • We do not sell your library or profile data.
  • We do not run cross-site ad-targeting or data-broker programs.
  • We do not silently track your physical location in the background.
  • We do not use support messages to train public models on your behalf.

7. Your Control

You control most product data directly inside the app. You can change profile fields, update onboarding choices, edit library items, and contact us to request export or deletion support.

Questions about data use can be sent to support@mosaicmedialibrary.com.
